Hi, I’m Waseem Akram – a food enthusiast, digital storyteller, and the heart behind Eat in Vienna.
Originally from Pakistan 🇵🇰, I moved to Vienna to pursue my Master's in Computer Science at the University of Vienna. But between code and coursework, I discovered a deeper obsession: Vienna’s incredible food scene. From traditional Wiener schnitzel to hidden vegan curry joints and every flaky pastry in between, I couldn’t resist sharing the flavors I was experiencing.
Vienna’s food scene is more than schnitzel and Sachertorte — and I’m here to prove it.
From candlelit Austrian Heurigers to sizzling Turkish kebab grills, fresh Italian pasta kitchens, bold Mexican taquerias, fragrant Arabic shawarma spots, and homestyle Pakistani & Indian curries — I explore it all.
I created Eat in Vienna for those who want real recommendations, not just Google Maps ratings. Students looking for affordable eats, tourists hungry for hidden gems, and locals bored of the usual? You’re in the right place.
This isn’t about fine-dining flexes — it’s about authentic food, good vibes, and honest storytelling. If it’s tasty, welcoming, and worth your time, you’ll find it here.
